It takes more than experience and proper training to help individuals with learning difficulties. Commitment and a supportive approach are also prerequisites. We choose whom we work with carefully, and the reputation we've established over the years reflects our commitment to hiring the best in their respective fields. Members of our staff hold degrees in speech pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and other disciplines.

Many of our staff members have attended advanced classes and training in written language, auditory processing, behavior analysis, autism, apraxia, memory, cognition, voice, Therapeutic Listening, Handwriting Without Tears, Slingerland and Lindamood Bell Programs.

Pamela Joy, M.A., CCC
- Executive Director / Founder


Pamela Joy founded ALLS in 1980. For more than 20 years, she has been helping Bay Area children and adults with learning and other developmental difficulties. Pam received her MA in Speech Pathology and Audiology and her CCC from the American Speech & Hearing Association. Pam is licensed by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance and certified by the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. She is a frequent speaker on developmental issues at preschools, special education organizations, school districts, hospitals and public agencies.


Elizabeth Field, M.S., CCC
- Director of Clinic Services


Elizabeth is a California licensed Speech & Language Pathologist, practicing in the field since 1985. She received a B.S. in Speech & Language Pathology & Audiology in 1983 from University of Oregon. In 1985, she obtained her Masters Communication Disorders from California State University. She is licensed in Speech Language Pathology with the State of California, is ASHA certified, and holds her teaching credential with the State of California Commission. Elizabeth has worked in a variety of settings, namely public schools, hospitals and private practice. Her main focus has been working with pediatrics for the past 17 years. She serves as the Director of Clinic Services and manages all contracts and therapists including school district contracts. Elizabeth's areas of interest include working with articulation & phonology, voice and stuttering. She as been with ALLS since September 1992.
