Evaluation
Speech and Language evaluations for children are conducted by our speech language pathologist in a play setting to assess a child's communication abilities. A speech and language evaluation starts it all. The evaluation includes a full speech work up and hearing test. You will leave with verbal results and recommendations. A written report goes to you, and to whomever else you request. You, your child's pediatrician or school district may refer children who need evaluation.
Screening
Speech Screenings also offer a brief look at whether or not a child needs a full evaluation and includes recommendations for further intervention. Individual or Group Speech Therapy may be recommended for a child based on the results of the evaluation.
Next Steps
If a child needs therapy, ALLS will recommend either Individual or Group therapy. If the speech-language pathologist feels that the child needs immediate help with specific speech problems, they will recommend a highly individualized therapy program suited specifically to that child's needs.
